great works. the key is to support the outer edge if you put a lot of weight on rack. I use straps to secure my items at La scala (usually a heavy Chair and a bike and maybe a tricycle too) and then use one of the straps to attach the outer edge back up the ladder rung on the rack. in this way the weight does not make a curved rack while driving. (I once forgot that extra strap .... It did bend slightly while traveling .... I was able to bend it back
